Welcome! We are studying the Acts of the Holy Spirit as He empowered the members of the first church which was located in the city of Jerusalem. Our text this morning will be taken from Acts chapter 4:23-31. The message of the gospel was gladly received by thousands who were saved, however, this good news of salvation through the risen Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ, greatly angered others! This brought about persecution that accelerated and eventually scattered the congregation. How did the church members respond? THEY PRAYED! Their prayer, as found in Acts 4:23-31, provides us with a pattern to follow that we too, might boldly proclaim the Word as Spirit-filled believers!
